Planet Earth!

I have read a few articles pertaining to the Discovery series "Planet Earth". It seems that there are people who are actually offended by the footage showing animals killing animals. Their argument is that Discovery is showing too much violence and not enough serenity and beauty of the planet. I completely understand that a lot of people have a problem watching death and killing (it is gory and gross after all) but it is part of the process that sustains life. Unpleasant as it may be for some people I don't think they should completely shield themselves or their children from it.

The human race is no different. Its all a matter of survival and humans as well as animals will do what ever it takes to survive. Even though humans do not rely on their instincts as much as animals do, you can bet your ass that when it comes to surviving man will revert back to his primal instincts without hesitation to live another day. To hide from or deny this fact is to live with your head buried in the sand of ignorance.

Animals and insects were on this planet long before man and will be here long after. If I had to bet on one or the other my money would be on the latter.

I also agree 100% with you!
Its also a FACT that humans will go back to basic instics.....remember the rugby team that was stranded in some mountains,in the middle of winter, after their plane crashed?
No one ever blamed them for eating their dead team mates. What were they do to?They had no other choice for survival!
As gross as it seems......its all part of life.Eating and beeing eaten.

Yep, It all boils down to one thing.......

Eat, Or Be Eaten..........

I like both but overall I guess I'd rather be eaten. As long as she doesn't try to kiss me afterwards.

I couldn't have said it better myself. :-)

True - in the UK where I come from originally, people are prepared to spend more time worrying about animals than human beings (like in Iraq) The "joke" is that when someone from the UK sees a blind man they feel sorry for his dog. Now I also have strong feelings about cruelty and inhumane treatment of animals, but charity begins at home. Humans ARE different from animals. Animals very rarely kill other than for survival or self protection
